Community Manager — Instagram, Reddit & Twitter (Contract)

Location: New York City (On-site preferred)
Compensation: $25/hr

About the role

Atoms is looking for a Community Manager who lives online, loves great conversations, and believes in the power of real connection. You’ll help grow and engage our community across Instagram, Reddit, and Twitter, while also bringing people together through offline events that celebrate creativity, comfort, and everyday life.

This role is perfect for someone who’s part social storyteller, part internet detective, and part community builder.

What You'll Do

  • Actively engage on Reddit and Twitter threads related to comfort, shoes, design, creativity, and culture — reply thoughtfully, add value, and spark new conversations that earn trust and upvotes.

  • Join discussions where people are talking about brands, lifestyle, and creativity — not to promote, but to connect.

  • Manage Atoms’ social presence across Instagram, Reddit, and Twitter: posting, commenting, and curating relevant moments.

  • Collaborate with the creative team on tone, visuals, and storytelling to make every post feel human and thoughtful.

  • Identify opportunities to turn online conversations into offline experiences — like Atoms walks, creative talks, or small pop-ups.

  • Collect feedback, insights, and stories from the community to share with the product and marketing teams.

  • Track engagement and growth metrics to see what’s resonating and what’s not.

What we're looking for

  • Deep understanding of internet culture, Reddit communities, and Twitter conversations.

  • A natural writer who can respond with empathy, humor, and curiosity.

  • Someone who knows when to speak, when to listen, and when to start something meaningful.

  • Experience organizing small community events or creative gatherings.

  • Strong collaboration skills — works well with design, marketing, and growth teams.

  • Passion for creativity, design, and products that make everyday life better.

Who should not apply

  • Anyone who sees community as just social media metrics.

  • People not comfortable engaging in online discussions directly.

  • Those who avoid offline interaction or are hesitant to meet people IRL.

  • Anyone unwilling to learn new tools, experiment with AI content tools, or iterate fast.

  • People who prefer posting over building real connections.
