At Atoms, we are committed to responsible manufacturing, environmental sustainability, and giving back to our communities. We carefully select our manufacturing partners to ensure they meet our ethical standards, minimize our environmental impact, and constantly seek to reduce our carbon footprint.

We are not a sustainable company. Nor will we ever be one. We understand the real-world challenges we face as a global society and we are trying our best to play our part to do better both in pursuing social and environmental responsibility.

Responsibly sourced materials

At Atoms, we may be a young brand but we’re always striving to do better. We understand the impact our products can have, from the materials we use to the manufacturing process, and we’re constantly working to minimize our impact. Our team is committed to carefully selecting the most environmental conscious materials and working with our suppliers to ensure responsible production. Together, we’re dedicated to making a positive difference for our planet.

Ethically made in South Korea

Atoms products are made in South Korea. A country that is known for its quality, innovation, and ethical labor practices. Our factories comply with the Labor Standards Act, ensuring fair wages, safe working conditions, and a safe environment. The Atoms team regularly visits our suppliers’ facilities in person to ensure the standard of our production.

Giving back to the communities that inspires us

We have invested significant resources into minimizing most of our impact at the factory level. We use a waterless dyeing technique to dye all of our solid-colored shoes. Conversely, we use a sublimation technique to print patterns directly onto the fabric to prevent waste. When it comes to our custom foam midsole, we use injection molding to only use what we need compared to a cookie-cutter technique that many brands use which leads to excessive waste.

Example in action

  • In response to Covid-19, we reallocated our manufacturing capacity to produce high-quality face masks for everyday wear. Atoms donated a mask for every order and sold them at cost to not profit off of a global health crisis.

  • Atoms partnered with Colin Kaepernick’s Know Your Rights Camp to make and donate special face masks.
